New Ergonomics Regulations

The Department of Employment and Labour (DEL) has indicated that the Ergonomics Regulations that were published for public comment on 27 January 2017, have been approved by the Advisory Council for Occupational Health and Safety (ACOHS) and been submitted to the Minister of DEL for promulgation.

The Presenter

Saiosh has secured Dale Kennedy, CEO of Ergomax Holding (Pty) Ltd, to workshop the new Ergonomics Regulation and to discuss the impact it will have on industry at large. Dale served on the DEL Technical Committee that drafted the Ergonomics Regulations. He was the first Certified Professional Ergonomist in South Africa. He started Ergomax Ergonomics Consultants in 1999 and has built it up to the company it is today. He has been Practicing as a Professional Ergonomist from 2000. Ergonomics is essentially the “new buzz word on the block” Dale has expanded on the understanding of the discipline by promoting the concept of Ergonomics in industry, and then continually driving and building the need for effective ergonomics within all African industries.
