OHS to shine in 2025

Last year’s launch of the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Prevention Accord, as well as the OHS Strategy 2024-2029, highlighted decent work and safe working conditions. This ties in perfectly with
A-OSH 2025.

The OHS Prevention Accord’s theme, “Strategic collaboration to prevent incidents and occupational diseases in the workplace”, included talks by the Minister of Employment and Labour, Nomakhosazana Meth, and experts from CF, RMA, and FEM. CEO of FEM Nazeer Hoosen, for example, spoke on the direct and hidden costs associated with workplace injuries, emphasising the financial and human impact of workplace accidents.

“Adequate health and safety measures in the workplace are the responsibility of all stakeholders, including employers and employees. Providing these parties with the appropriate tools and training is critical to ensure that safety goals are met and retained,” says Mark Anderson, portfolio director at Specialised Exhibitions – the show’s organiser. “A-OSH Expo is Africa’s largest platform for the suppliers of OSH products and services. A visit to the expo, taking place at Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand from 3 to 5 June, affords industry professionals the opportunity to find all their OSH needs under one roof.”

A-OSH Expo is co-located with Securex South Africa, Facilities Management Expo, and Firexpo, creating a logical and productive way in which to source OSH, security, FM, and fire safety solutions in one venue. The benefits for both exhibitors and visitors are substantial, including time and cost savings in finding solutions for visitors, while exhibitors gain access to a captive market actively seeking their solutions.

“Not only can visitors discuss their OSH issues with knowledgeable exhibitors to help them make informed decisions, but they can learn about current industry trends and regulatory changes at the free-to-attend Saiosh Seminar Theatre and the Working at Height and Safety Seminar Theatre. Both events are commonly packed to capacity, with an overflow of delegates standing in the passageways to ensure they don’t miss out on the captivating sessions,” Anderson elaborates.

“We encourage organisations wishing to increase their market presence, and visitors looking for the latest in OSH solutions, to visit our website at www.aosh.co.za.”
